Happy Monday my friends! I have good news and bad news. Let’s start with the good news first shall we? If you are from the US like me and have been thinking about traveling to Curaçao, now’s your chance! As of today, Monday, October 31st, there will be a maximum of 20,000 passengers welcomed onto the island. Starting on October 31st, there will be regularly scheduled flights to and from Curaçao! Ready for the bad news? The only states that are considered medium-risk and are welcome to visit Curaçao are New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Florida. There are 3 pre-departure mandatory steps you must adhere to listed below.

If you happen to live in a high risk state then a 2-week quarantine will be required… (so I guess it’s not super bad news after all 😊)

Low-Risk Country travelers that are welcome to visit Curaçao:

Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Bermuda, Bonaire, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, Saba, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, St. Eustatius, St. Vincent and Grenadines

Medium Risk Country travelers that are welcome to visit Curaçao:

Aruba, Austria, Azerbaijan, Canada, China, Cuba, Denmark, Finland, French Guyana, Germany, Greece, Guyana, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Italy, Jamaica, Morocco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Saint Barthelemy, Sint Maarten, Suriname, Sweden, Taiwan, Trinidad & Tobago, Turkey, Turks and Caicos, Uruguay

Medium Risk US States that are welcome to visit Curaçao:

Starting October 7th (limited flight times) and October 31st (regularly scheduled flight times), the USA Tri-State area (New York, New Jersey, Connecticut) and also Florida, are now considered medium risk. Prior to arrival, visitors from these states will be required to present a state-issued ID as proof of residency in addition to the below mentioned 3 pre-departure steps.

**If you didn’t see your countries listed on the above lists, it means that it is listed as a High-Risk Country and a 14-day Quarantine will be required.

High Risk Country?

If you are from a high-risk country you must apply for a permit to enter the island, which includes a mandatory quarantine of 14 days. The traveler will be responsible for paying the cost of the mandatory quarantine.

3 Pre-Departure Mandatory steps you must adhere to:

  1. Complete the digital immigration card online before departure at dicardcuracao.com.
  2. Within 48 hours before departure, you need to digitally fill out the Passenger Locator Card (PLC) and carry a printed document of proof with you. You may do so at dicardcuracao.com.
  3. Each visitor entering Curaçao will need to show a negative result from a certified COVID-19 PCR-test (Please note: PCR tests based on Gargle samples will not be accepted.) and
    carry a printed document of proof with them. The test is taken max. 72 hours prior to departure at an accredited laboratory. You may contact your general practitioner for a referral to the nearest institution. You will be required to upload the negative test results of the COVID-19 PCR-test on dicardcuracao.com before departure.

Other entry conditions for all travelers:

  • You have not traveled to another country where there is a high-risk of COVID-19 infections or have been in contact with a person who tested positively for COVID-19 within 14 days prior to arrival. If this is the case, you will be placed in mandatory quarantine.
  • You must carry a printed document of proof of the mandatory steps at all times during your travel.
  • You must be adequately insured for medical care and any additional costs if you are quarantined or become ill during your stay.
  • No cruise passengers are currently admitted.

If you do not meet the above conditions, you may be quarantined on arrival. This is entirely at your own expense.

Curfew:

Effective September 17, 2020, a curfew is in effect from 11:00pm to 5:00am.
